Feature and Follow
Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Rachel at Parajunkee’s View and Alison at Alison Can Read.
This week I am one of the featured blogs for Feature and Follow Friday. Well I hope you guys are all had a good week, I know that I have.
Q: This Sunday in the U.S. is Mother's Day, in celebration, what are some of your favorite books with strong mother/child relationships?
A: Some of my favourite books with strong mother/child relationships is City of Bones By Cassandra Clare. The relationship that Clary and her mother has is amazing. They would do anything to protect one another, evening risking there own lives. The way that her mother hides a whole world just to protect her daughter is so sweet. You can feel the love that she has for her daughter, and that she only wants what is best for her. Like any other mother daughter relationships there is fights, but it makes them love each other even more. You see when her mom disappears, that she sees things in a new light, and understands why it happend the way it did. There is many books with strong mother/child relationships. Authors like Jodi Picoult, Sarah Dessen have many books with strong relationships between mother and child. The Truth About Forever is another book with this relationship within. Macy and her mother share a silent grief over the loss of her father, it bring them together.
I hope you all wish your mother a Happy Mother's Day.
Happy Friday

ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower
here is mine
It is a very good series!!
DeleteIt's interesting, but Mortal Instruments didn't occur to me as an answer. I guess it's because we see so little of her mom; however, I really loved that conversation they had in City of Glass up on that hill (you know the one I'm talking about? I got all choked up reading it).
ReplyDeleteSarah Dessen definitely came to mind though. I like The Truth About Forever, but I think that my favorite mom-daughter relationship she's penned is the one from Along for the Ride. So flawed, yet really touching and wonderful. Have you read it?
New follower! Feel free to stop by my FF!
I know the part you are talking about, and I got choked up too. I have not read Along for the ride yet.
DeleteSarah Dessen! I love her books. She's one of my favorite authors. :) Happy Friday, Makayla! Congratulations on being featured! :D
